Edit a DNS Zone
You must be familiar with DNS Zones prior to using this feature. To edit your DNS records:
Log into your WebHostManager
Click on 'Edit a DNS Zone'
Select the domain.
Make necessary changes and click 'Save'.
Your DNS records will look something like:
; WwwAcct 2.5
; Zone file for domain.com
@ 14400 IN SOA ns1.domain.com. root.domain.com. (
1023925192 ; serial, todays date+todays
28800 ; refresh, seconds
7200 ; retry, seconds
3600000 ; expire, seconds
86400 ) ; minimum, seconds
mchost.com. 14400 IN NS ns1.domain.com.
mchost.com. 14400 IN NS ns2.domain.com.
mchost.com. 14400 IN A 123.123.123.123
localhost.domain.com. 14400 IN A 127.0.0.1
domain.com. 14400 IN MX 0 domain.com.
mail 14400 IN CNAME domain.com.
www 14400 IN CNAME domain.com.
ftp 14400 IN CNAME domain.com.
When editing DNS Zones, be sure to never delete any periods or your domains will not resolve or function properly. We strongly recommend you to leave the settings untouched unless you are sure of what you are doing.
You may change where your email goes by editing the second "MX" 'domain.com' entry. Only use this if you are sure you wish to direct your email to another server that is ready to receive the email or your email will be lost!
We recommend that you replace any 'dnsrouter.com' entries with 'yourdomain.com' in order for your domains to resolve 100% for everyone.
